Feedbacks from Classic Keynote Speeches Questionnaires

It was fun to have all the audience members sing together. The instructor also taught us rhythmic beatbox mimicking Jazz drums. It was fun!

Feedbacks from Classic Keynote Speeches Questionnaires

After this speech, I have the confidence to overcome my troubles! Today, I learned “making corrections does not mean failure; rather, it is for a better future.”

Feedbacks from Classic Keynote Speeches Questionnaires

This speech has brought me greater realization on life. “Life is a never-ending practice.” This speech has shown me the meaning of life. The speaker said that the hardest things in life are not the challenges you meet, but that you must have a strong will!

I love the speakers’ attitudes in class; I love how they are interactive and devoted. Seeing their demonstrations makes me become interested in Peking Opera, which I often listened to as a child, and understand more about this culture and art.

Dreams are for those who are willing to sacrifice everything else!” When the speaker talks, the words are all powerful, knocking on my heart and motivating me!

Director Hsieh uses plain language and light tone to systematically introduce the history of classical music. It was very exciting!

Exploratory Courses—Feedbacks by Students

Electronic Circuit Engineer Training (Arduino Interactive Design Practice)

Before I studied electronic circuit, I always saw my older brother busying with experimenting and welding together electronic parts. Sometimes, I followed him and put some parts together myself. Of course, I had no idea what I was doing, I just found it interesting! After I attended this class, I finally learned the names of the things I had taken apart! In the class, the instructor taught us to put together some works, such as night lamp, a top that never stops spinning, and photo-sensitive resistor. For most of these works, we learned to properly assemble the circuit boards, and the names of many electronic components. In the past, when I saw appliances people threw out, I would take them home and take them apart; they met a much more tragic end! But now, for some small appliances (clock, mosquito racket), I am able to identify their problems and try to repair them! I like this kind of practical classes!

Playing Around—I Am the One Telling My Own Story

The lecturer often reminded us, performing art expressed emotions through body language. Through this class, I further understand the spirit of performers. I feel that: to perform, the key lies not in our techniques, but in our emotions!

At the end-of-term performance, the lecturer used many expressions, some of which I had never seen before (Ex. Cloth puppet, mirror practice, and so on), offering me new perspectives on and triggering stronger interest in performing art! Also, because in this class boys and girls were intentionally blended together, we had the chance to learn to know, communicate, and respect each other, which helped me overcome my problem of spending time with the opposite sex in the past.

Learning-by-Doing Experimental Game: Economic Principles

Even though he was a university associate professor, the lecturer could always use plain language to teach us, a group of junior high school students, so that we “understood right away.” He also used money, food, or games for teaching. It was really fun! I loved this class. We always discussed first, and then played games, wrote reports; in the next class, the lecturer would have marked the reports and return to us for discussion. I am really grateful that he did all these for us!

Scientific Robot

From structure, assembly, to programming, we had to think on our own to make the robot, and this is why all of our final products differ greatly in terms of structure, and the controlling methods are different too. This facilitates us to learn from and discuss with one another. Also, since the course was conducted in small groups, I also learned how to interact within a group, and how to convince the others, or accept someone else’s opinions, when we had a dispute. These have made this course even more valuable!

Scientific Practice and Exploration

After learning scientific practice with the lecturer, I gradually realized the art behind science. Through simple materials, we could transform trivial daily objects into beautiful things in life. I want to tell the lecturer: “Thank you for showing me a wider world, teaching me the principles behind science, and enabling me to see the art and beauty of science!”

Practical Applications of Drone

From the simplest 3D image production to microfilm into which we had to put in our own ideas, the lecturer had us consider the meaning of drone to us. Drone is just a tool, like programming, or a camera, the more important thing is: “What do you want to do? What do you want to say?” This is also the thing the lecturer constantly reminded everyone!

Microfilm Production and Editing

I learn a lot about lens language and many editing techniques in this class. I also used smartphone app to shoot a simple microfilm. In the future, I can turn the pictures or videos of my family trips into a documentary. It is definitely a great memory! I also like to thank the lecturer for demonstrating to us every day, so we could understand better.

Computer Animation Design and Creation

I am learning drawing, but since this is an age of modern technology, I wanted to also take some classes on computer designing, so I applied for this course. At first, I had lots of questions and could not keep up with the class. After a number of classes, I learned from the teacher and exchanged with fellow students, I was able to gradually catch up, and became more interested in this class. I’d like to thank the teacher for being so patient with me!

Creative Board Games

After attending this class, I gradually understood that in addition to being recreational, the teacher also guided us to consider and realize some of the meanings of board games. Board games are like simulations of life. In the games, everyone has his or her strengths and weaknesses. We can also learn more about ourselves through the games, while also cultivating our ability to face setbacks and other abilities outside of conventional classes.

Verbal Art—Use of Language

In this class, I learned to utilize volume, tone, pause, facial expression, body language, eyes, and phrases and words to diversely convey my emotions, feelings, and ideas. During demos, such as storytelling and dramatic improvisation, the three instructors gave different demonstrations because they all had a different style, this truly opened my eyes! Through emulation and practice, I was quickly able to grasp expressive techniques, which would greatly help my life in the future!

Electives at another School

Student Feedback (Grade 11)

Electives at another school is very helpful to self-learning students. It helps us to go into school campus and see how it is like to study in school. It also helps us to learn in advance what the discipline or department is about, so we gain clearer direction for the future.

Electives at another School

Parent Feedback

Taking electives in a university is truly a valuable experience for a junior high school student. During the course, my child had the opportunity to join older and more capable university students to explore the world of knowledge. My child also had a chance to see their, perhaps lazy or serious, learning attitudes, and reflect on why we have to learn. As a parent, I truly thank the many people behind the scene who made this happen: Department of Education, and admin staff at the university; I also like to thank the professors for being willing to give self-learning children this opportunity.
