Autodidactic Exploratory Courses
Autodidactic Exploratory Courses
Focusing on STEAM as the core concept, the program plans interdisciplinary learning on hot trends and topics. Starting from the 2019 academic year, the elective courses have been divided into two mixed-age learning categories for grades 3-6 and grades 5 and above, and inspired children’s boundless potentials and creativity through mutual observation, interaction, and learning! The classes are small in size, and suitable teaching assistants are assigned timely based on the nature of the classes, while also responding to the different learning needs at different levels. Over the past two years, in addition to the classes on hot topics that have been offered regularly, the program has continued to develop courses on new topics and planned advanced or thematic courses, offering students opportunities of diverse exploration and broadened and deepened learning.
“Arduino Interactive Design Practice”
Students learn the concept of electronic circuits through practical experience, and are guided to apply what they have learned to design applications for daily living.
“The League of Creative Makers”
Students are instructed to create with various kinds of materials and tools, guiding them to materialize their ideas.
“Learning-by-Doing Experimental Game: Economic Principles”
Combining IT, participants get to observe each other’s decision-making via the online experimental game, helping them to understand economic principles and ultimately apply the knowledge in daily life.
“Performing Art—Playing Around”
Practice techniques of expressing self through body language, expressions, and voice, and establish team chemistry and trust, for drama performance at the end of the semester.
“Scientific Robots”
From drawing the design, assembling the parts, to programming, students learn through numerous errors and failures, and participate in robot competition at the end of the semester to determine the final winner!
“Creative Board Games”
Observe through the games the various behaviors of participating students, and guide them to explore self, foster social and interactive skills, and nurture the spirit of teamwork.
